David Bastedo is a Canadian Multi-Disciplinary Artist, Photographer, Storyteller & Creative Technologist based in Kingston, ON. With expertise in photography, painting, and storytelling, David boasts over 25 years of experience in crafting and executing innovative digital brand marketing strategies. As the founder of Ten Plus One Communications and Live-Art, and a partner in Continuum Media and Gravity Partners, he seamlessly blends strategy, technology, and imagination to deliver results-driven solutions.
CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF THE TRAGICALLY HIP AND MORE
Throughout his career, David has created captivating content for a diverse range of clients. For 12 years, he captured the essence of Canada’s iconic band, The Tragically Hip, producing evocative still and motion images both on and off stage. His work includes memorable events such as the Man Machine Poem Tour and Gord Downie’s tour for The Secret Path. David’s striking images have gained international recognition in print, merchandise, and media and are available as limited edition, fine art photographs.
Embracing Creative Exploration and Self-Discovery Through Painting
Driven by a passion for self-discovery and creative exploration, David has embraced various artistic mediums throughout his life. In his youth, he experimented with painting and photography before dedicating several decades to digital marketing. Amid the pandemic, David reignited his love for painting, finding solace in the tactile aspects of art and deepening his connection to the physical world. Through painting, he delves into emotions using gestures, colours, and textures, starting with a specific emotion and colour that evolves as layers of paint mirror his mood. Each piece is deemed complete when it evokes happiness or alleviates emotional turmoil.
